JAL's Brazil-made jets to fly more regional routes from fall

Japan Airlines plans to fly four more regional routes using the Brazilian-made Embraer 170 jets from the fall, expanding use of the fuel efficient planes for its local flights which began in February, JAL officials said Monday.

The new routes would be flights connecting Sendai in northeastern Japan with Fukuoka in the southwest, Kansai airport in Osaka Prefecture with Fukuoka, Akita in northeastern Japan with Nagoya airport in central Japan, and Sapporo in the northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido with Akita, the officials said.
